Why Your Reviews Matter
Your reviews are invaluable to our community! They help others make informed decisions, discover great experiences, and avoid potential pitfalls. By sharing your honest feedback, you contribute to a more transparent and trustworthy environment for everyone.
Review Guidelines
- Be Honest and Objective: Share your genuine experiences, both positive and negative. Focus on the facts and avoid personal attacks or biased opinions.
- Be Specific and Detailed: Provide concrete examples to support your claims. Instead of saying "It was bad," explain *why* it was bad.
- Be Respectful: Even if you had a negative experience, maintain a respectful tone. Constructive criticism is more effective than aggressive rants.
- Focus on the Experience: Concentrate on the product, service, or experience itself. Avoid mentioning irrelevant personal information or unrelated issues.
- No Profanity or Hate Speech: Reviews containing profanity, hate speech, or discriminatory language will be removed.
- One Review Per Experience: Please submit only one review per experience. Multiple reviews for the same service from the same person will be removed.
- Do Not Solicit: Do not solicit or incentivise good reviews for businesses.
- No Fish Policy: Do not base your experince just because you didn't catch fish. Consider the total experience with your friends and family.

Review Legalities & Guidelines
It’s illegal to post fake, false, or misleading reviews or testimonials. In Australia, businesses or individuals posting fake or misleading reviews can face substantial fines.
- Fines: The Australian Consumer Law (ACL) allows for significant fines for misleading or deceptive conduct.
- Monetary Penalties: For some breaches, the calculation of the maximum penalty is based on "penalty units".
- ACCC Action: The ACCC takes a strong stance against fake reviews. The ACCC has prosecuted several business in Australia for posting fake reviews and/or testimonials
- Consumer Trust: MatesBoat™ is on a mission to clean up the boating review space. We want to ensure that all reviews are from real people with real experiences. We have a zero tolerance policy for fake reviews.
